We are so thankful for Elizabeth and her willingness to take our family in after another Airbnb host canceled the reservation we had booked months earlier without explanation on the evening of our arrival to the Outer Banks. Elizabeth was WONDERFUL! She worked to get her home clean and ready for us as soon as possible, as we had been wandering the Outer Banks in the rain—with an 11-month old infant and two senior citizens in their 70s—ever since we had been asked to vacate the other Airbnb home without explanation in the middle of the night. Elizabeth’s understanding and kindness were so appreciated in the midst of such an inconvenient, frustrating ordeal! Elizabeth responded as soon as she saw my message, very early in the morning, and she was easily accessible during our stay when we had a question. Elizabeth’s home itself is the closest you will ever stay to the ocean! You are literally about twenty feet from the shoreline, which has shifted and changed with storms over the years to bring the ocean nearly to their front door. (There is no dune, and the house is on the beach!) The sound of the ocean waves as you sleep is so soothing, and watching the sunrise—which is possible from nearly any room in the house!—is glorious. The home is located very near some fun shopping with an outlet mall, and there are a Fresh Market and a Food Lion close by for grocery needs. We had a great time and were so grateful that Elizabeth helped us enjoy our family reunion beach week even after Claire’s unexpected cancellation.
