Did you know that online booking sites add fees to your booking which can be up to 16% of your total? Often these fees are hidden as service fees that you think the owner is charging. You don’t get anything more – you just pay more. The best prices are not on these sites, they are directly with the owner.
So how can you book direct? Many owners who have listed their homes for rent have their own websites. Remember this phrase – Look but Don’t Book! Find the rental on a listing site then web-search (google, bing, etc) the name of the property with the area it is located. For example if you google Sea Urchin Inn Nags Head, you’ll find our website. Communicate directly and save 5%-16% on your rental.
